In case you have selected “Columns with Widget Areas” as footer template, you will have the possibility to set the layout for the footer content.
Go to the Customizer -> Footer Settings -> Footer Layout.
- Use drag and drop to reorder the widgets in the footer section.
- The sliders in this customization panel allow you to adjust the width over which span the widget columns.
