    Go to the Customizer -> Footer Settings.

    From this subsection, you have the possibility to set the background of the footer. You can choose a certain background type, set some values for the footer spacing, show an overlay, show a footer border and use footer parallax.

    Here are the options in detail:

    a. Background Type

    There are 3 distinct background types:

    • Color – click on Options and a customization panel will open. Choose a solid color for your footer background.

    • Image – decide upon what image you want to choose for the footer background and click on Options. A panel will expand, with all the customization possibilities:

     

    • Upload the image from your computer; you can remove or change the file whenever you want
    • Set the Background Image Size to
      • Auto
      • Contain
      • Cover

    Experiment with any of these 3 image sizes and see what looks finest.

    • Align the image using the Background Image Position feature (left top, left center, left bottom, center top, center center, center bottom, right top, right center, right bottom)

     

    • Gradient – choose a gradient type background and click on Options. A panel will expand, where you can select the gradient of your choice.

     

    b. Show overlay

    The overlay is a semi-transparent color/shape that applies to the background and gives a nice visual effect.

    Check the checkbox Show overlay, if you want to apply an overlay to the footer background. Leave the checkbox unchecked if you do not want to display an overlay. Once the button checked, the Options button will appear. Click on Options and a customization panel will expand.

     

    Choose the type of the overlay:

     

    • Shape Only – it adds shapes, while it preserves the background color or gradient
      • Choose from a bundle of different shapes the ones to apply to your footer background overlay
      • Adjust the light of the shapes you have applied to the footer background overlay

     

    • Color – it adds a semi-transparent color to the footer background
      • Select the Overlay Color
      • Make the overlay more transparent or opaquer, by adjusting the Overlay Opacity
      • Choose from a bundle of shapes the ones to apply to the footer background overlay
      • Adjust the light of the shapes you have applied to the footer background overlay

     

    • Gradient – it adds a fully customized gradient + shapes to the footer background
      • Choose the gradient you want to apply to the overlay
      • Select the exact colors match for your gradient
      • Adjust the gradient angle
      • Choose from a bundle of shapes the ones to apply to the footer background overlay
      • Adjust the light of the shapes you have applied to the footer background overlay

    c. Footer Spacing

    This subsection refers to the distance of the footer from the top and to the bottom.

    The values are given in pixels, but you can also set them in percentages.

     

    d. Show Footer Border

    This feature allows you to add a solid upper border to the footer section.

    Check the checkbox in case you want to add a clearly defined upper border to your footer. Leave the checkbox unchecked if you do not want to display an upper border to the footer section.

    In case you choose to have a solid border, you can customize it as follows:

    • Footer Border Color – select the color for the solid border
    • Footer Border Thickness – define how thick you want the solid border to be

    e. Use footer parallax

    A parallax effect consists of a slightly hidden background that stays in place, and as the foreground moves, you continue seeing the still background until the entire foreground is covering it.

    Check the checkbox to enable the footer parallax effect. Leave the checkbox unchecked if you don’t want any footer parallax.
